Many business brokers use newspaper classified ads as their sole method to advertise their listings.  While this may be cost effective for the broker, it significantly limits the number of potential buyers who will see the ads.  At Markus, we use a variety of marketing methods, including the Internet, to maximize exposure of our listings. 

 

We also use our membership in Business Brokers of Florida (BBF) to share our listings with more than 900 fellow brokers statewide.  BBF is the state’s leading association of professional business brokers with a computerized database of more than 5,500 Florida-based opportunities.

  
Packaging Your Business

 

The more information a broker can provide to a buyer, the sooner the business will sell.  This is one of the most important, and often overlooked, realities of selling a business.  A three-line newspaper ad, or a single-page listing, cannot provide the level of detail as a professionally prepared Owners Manual

Maintaining Confidentiality

 

At Markus, we recognize the importance of maintaining confidentiality.  The decision to inform employees of a pending sale of the business is the seller’s responsibility, not the broker’s and not the buyer’s.  We will not release specific information about any business without a signed non-disclosure agreement and proof of financial ability from a buyer.
